Illuminate the World with Peace

I developed two new cards as a response to all the turmoil
going on around the world. We wanted to remind people that despite all the
chaos, we can choose to focus on positivity and resonate this intention out to
all those around us.

Reflecting on the idea of light as a symbol of hope and enlightenment, I decided to combine both the modern concept of lights through illuminated light bulbs, but with a slightly retro touch for a hip graphic designed style.
Ojolie “Illuminate the World” animated e-card for the holidays

The result is our newest e-card, “Illuminate the World”, set against a starry
evening sky, with light bulbs illuminated with the words: Peace, Hope and Joy, coming
to life to shine brightly with Christmas greetings.

The world needs a big
injection of these three elements right now.

The idea for our new Peace Ribbon e-card came from a trip to the store to buy some simple ribbon for presents.  The news from that day was still going through my mind – another day of senseless violence and unrest.  As I sat fiddling with the ribbon between my hands on the ride home I could see the word peace forming.  It was only when I arrived home, I realized I had the first sparks of a card in the making.

I chose  white doves for this e-card as they are
a classic symbol of peace and a candy cane white and red striped ribbon to inject some uplifting holiday spirit.  There is nothing solemn or mellow about this card. The animated doves dance and fly about to an
upbeat tempo whilst holding red ribbons in their beaks, to spell out the word
“Peace” against the backdrop of an earth globe.

Wishing you peace and joy – and that these e-cards bring smiles to the
faces and the hearts of your loved ones all around the world.

Launching the new website for Tibetan Musician Techung

Acclaimed Tibetan musician Techung asked me about a year ago whether I would be willing to design his website. You might remember that I created a card with a message of peace shortly after the uprisings in Tibet that shocked the world a little over a year ago. Techung kindly allowed me to use his beautiful music in the card and so I was very happy to help with the design of his site.

It has taken some time for us both to make time between my regular work on the cards and his busy tour schedule to get the site ready to launch. So I am delighted to announce that today, an auspicious date selected by Techung’s 87 year old father, we have launched the new site.

Please check out the site to hear more of his wonderful music and read about his impressive past and upcoming tour schedule. The site will be an on-going source of news and upcoming events and hopefully you will be able to enjoy his performance live at some point.

To celebrate the launch of the site, the first, fifteenth and thirtieth person to join his mailing list will receive a DVD of the concert in Taipei, Taiwan. To join, simply access the news section of the site and scroll to the bottom where you can enter your email address.

2 New Cards for April

We have added two more cards to our site.

“Pigeongram” is a general card suitable for almost any occasion when sending a message via virtual carrier pigeon will add a special touch. I have rendered much of the card by hand in watercolor to add to the vintage feel that I tried to capture.

The second card, “Roof of the World” is somewhat unusual in that it was inspired by the events taking place around the world and in Tibet. I was honored when prominent Tibetan singer songwriter Techung agreed to provide the music used in the card, a very beautiful piece of his song to the Mountains, Kham Lu. You can find more information about Techung by clicking on the included links in the card.

The card is a celebration of diversity and peace for all of our global family. This card is free and is available for non-members to send. Thus, you will not be prompted to log in before sending the card. For our existing members, we recommend that you log in first to send this card if you want it to appear in your card history.

Unlike our other cards, this card will be the only card made available to a number of organizations for free distribution for the cause of peace. If you know of any organization that would like to use the card for this purpose, please let us know.
